Who is responsible

ScrnCap is a product of Xeviora, a brand operated by LIU HU, a sole proprietor, who is the controller of the personal data described in this policy. Contact: support@xeviora.com

Data we collect

No image data, ever. ScrnCap does not collect, store on any server, transmit, share, or sell any screenshot content or browsing history. Every screenshot you take — free or paid — is captured, annotated, and exported locally on your own device. Your settings, capture history and project files stay in your browser via the standard extension storage and never leave your machine.

Captured images are held in local extension storage only long enough to hand them to the preview, editor, or export step. Nothing is uploaded, and no copy is kept anywhere outside your browser.

If you never create an account, the extension never contacts us. Capturing, annotating and exporting work with no network access at all. The first request to our servers only happens after you click a sign-in or restore-purchase button yourself.

If you do create an account, we store your email address, a password hash (or the identifier from the social provider you chose), your plan and subscription status, and the customer, subscription and transaction identifiers Paddle sends us. To keep your account secure, each sign-in session also records the IP address and browser user agent it was created from. That is the entire list — we do not count or record how you use the extension.

Permissions and why they are needed

activeTab

Grants one-time access to the current tab only when you trigger a capture, so its pixels can be read for the screenshot.

scripting

Injects the measurement, scrolling, and selection-overlay helpers into the page on demand during a capture. ScrnCap does not run a persistent content script.

tabs

Reads tab titles and URLs and switches the active tab when you batch-capture several open tabs in sequence.

storage

Persists your settings and hands the captured image to the local preview/editor page.

unlimitedStorage

Lets large full-page or batch captures be held locally without hitting the small default storage quota.

contextMenus

Adds right-click capture entries on the page.

downloads

Saves the exported image or PDF to your Downloads folder.

<all_urls>

Required so a capture can work on whatever page you are on; full-page, region, and fixed-size modes need to read and scroll the current page. Access happens only when you start a capture — ScrnCap does not watch, read, or send the pages you visit.

Remote code

ScrnCap does not load or execute any remote code. All JavaScript and WebAssembly are bundled in the extension package.

Third-party sites

The "Send to AI" action copies your screenshot to the system clipboard and opens ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini in a new tab. ScrnCap does not upload anything: nothing is sent unless you paste it yourself, and once you do, that provider's own privacy policy applies to what you pasted.

Accounts and subscriptions

An account is optional and is only needed to unlock the paid features. Sign-in is handled on this website; the session cookie is set on scrncap.xeviora.com only and is never shared with other Xeviora sites. Each Xeviora product has its own separate database and its own separate accounts — the same email address on two of our sites is two unrelated accounts.

When the extension checks whether your account is entitled to the paid features, it sends a single request carrying only your session cookie. That request contains no page URL, no page content and no image data. The reply is your plan and its expiry — nothing else. The extension never reports back what you captured or how often.

You can delete your account by writing to support@xeviora.com; deleting it removes your email, session and subscription rows from our database.

Payment processing

Payments are processed by our reseller and Merchant of Record, Paddle.com (Paddle.com Market Ltd, "Paddle"). Checkout runs on Paddle's hosted checkout on xeviora.com. Paddle collects and processes your payment and billing information (such as name, email, billing address, country and payment details) as an independent data controller in order to process your order, calculate taxes, prevent fraud and meet its legal obligations. We never receive or store your full card details. We receive limited order information from Paddle (such as your email, country, plan and transaction status) to provide the service. Service providers

We use a small number of service providers to run this website and the optional account. They process personal data only on our behalf and only as needed to provide their service:

Vercel

Hosts this website and processes standard request data (such as IP address) to serve and protect it.

Neon

Hosts the database that stores accounts and subscription status.

Paddle

Runs checkout, payments, taxes and refunds as our reseller and Merchant of Record — an independent controller, as described above.

MailerLite

Stores and sends our email list — used only when you subscribe.

Google / GitHub

Used only when you choose to sign in with one of them: they confirm your identity and share your email address and basic profile with us.

Email list

If you subscribe to our email list, your address is passed straight to MailerLite, which stores and manages the list on our behalf; it is not saved in this site's database and it is never linked to your purchase history. Subscribing uses double opt-in — you will get a confirmation email and are only added once you click it. Every email we send carries a one-click unsubscribe link.

This website

scrncap.xeviora.com runs no analytics or advertising scripts and embeds no third-party trackers. It sets cookies only when you sign in: the session cookie that keeps you signed in, plus short-lived security cookies used while signing in. They are strictly necessary for the account to work, are set on scrncap.xeviora.com only and are never used for tracking. Your theme and language preference are kept in your browser's local storage and never sent anywhere. As with any web host, our hosting provider processes standard request data (such as IP address) to serve and protect the site; we do not add tracking on top of it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you have the right to access, correct, delete or export the personal data we hold about you, and to object to or restrict how we process it. To exercise any of these rights, email support@xeviora.com from the address on your account; we will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.

We keep account data for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, we delete it from our database; Paddle keeps its own order records as required by tax and financial law.

Changes

If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will change accordingly. The current version is always published on this page.
